seasonal allergies

by MomOfTwoGrls, Apr 06, 2007 12:00AM
I was diagnosed with seasonal allergies last spring.  Went on zyrtec and that worked great. Winter came and I didn't have to take the zyrtec anymore.

Well, spring is back and so are my allergies.  Problem is my insurance has changed and to get my prescription of zrytec each month would cost me 100.00 which I can't afford with other medical costs.

So my question is this, is there any really good over the counter allergy meds available.

I think that claritin, loratadine is about the only one available right now.  It is very affordable in the generic form. My husband takes it and does very well with it as long as he takes it every day as prescribed. May take 2 weeks to build up in your system. Best wishes to you.

My son took Zyrtec also and I just now give him sometimes Claritin and sometimes Allevert and they both work wonderful.  Better than spending $100.00

Check out this link:  http://www.jigsawhealth.com/articles/allergies.html.  I have had a lot of luck with their products.  They are natural alternatives to prescription meds and I liked them because I never got strange/out of it feelings from them (like I did from Rx's from the doctor).  There is a lot of other good info there for you to read as well.  I hope this helps.
