Candidiasis

by Lextgrim, Jun 04, 2007 12:00AM
I have recently been looking into the possibility of having systemic candida.  I posted something on this forum about it before, having searched candida and found messages in this forum.

I mentioned before to someone on the forum I did have a tooth infection in Feb but it was treated - as I was worried about the fact that I have tachycardia which is constant and I am being treated for it.  That started up a couple of months ago, and the tooth infection was about 4 months back now.  The tooth infection was treated and was no an abcess, there was only swelling to the gum, nothing, it was painful but it was my usual tooth infection - as i had them a lot in the same place during pregnancy.

I have been on a lot of antibiotics and I am GUESSING that I may have systemic candida based on a number of symptoms I developed after being on anitibiotics for the tooth infection and for a womb infection I got straight after which was also treated with antibiotics.

I developed the tachy while I was on antibiotics for another suspected infection.  The GP thought I had strep throat because my throat was red, he took a culture and told me to take a course of antibiotics.  The culture was negative.  I had to wait a week for the result.

So I have been on a lot of antibiotics, which the last lot were unneccessary.  Now I am having muscle pain, fatigue, tachy, buzzing sensations in my chest and legs, my hands and feet go cold, anxiety attacks and high blood pressure.  Had lots and lots of blood tests.  All normal levels!  Before you say Thyroids as everyone keeps saying I;ve had 4 Thyroid tests in 3 months.  4 lots of Full BLood COunt, 2 lots of Blood cultures for bacteria.  Serum levels.

I suspected Candida because my tongue has been coated for 4 months, basically since the antibiotics.  I had burning tongue and itchy throat for a while too.  I am now getting lots of wind/burping, lost weight - a lot of weight.  And I DO have fungal toenail infection, fungal skin infection on my foot also.  I had a bit of vag thrush which comes and goes, but more recently my bottom can itch after I have visited the bathroom.  So I came to the conclusion myself after doing research that it might be Candidiasis.

I rang my GP after someone on a forum said "Get to a GP fast if you think it's systemic candida."  My GP went mad at me and insisted my problems are psychological and that I need treatment for that!

Therefore, I have put myself on an Anti-Candida diet!  I am also planning to see another GP about getting fungal cultures taken and some anti-fungal medication.

My questions are:

1 - How successful is an anti-candida diet at eliminating candida?  (Cutting out ALL sugars and yeasts).

2 - Doesn't someone have to have fungal infection for years before it becomes systemic?  (I have had these worsening symptoms since taking antibiotics 4 months ago).

3 - Would Candida cause tachycardia?  I have had a chest x ray and I was told that my circulatory system on the x ray, heart and lungs looked clear!  Yet I still have tachycardia, discoloured nails and apparent circulation problems.

You should investigate the possibility of mercury toxicity. It seems to fit your symptoms (in my opinion). I believe the body can take care of candida itself, unless you have a poor diet (lots of sugar and carbs). If you have mercury causing problems, it will prevent the body from dealing with the candida and cause other issues, some of which you describe.

Unfortunately only about 1% of the mainstream MDs/GPs will deal with this, so you might need to go towards complimentary medicine (NDs, etc.).

Strictly on candida only, if you don't have mercury, the diet should work, but its very strict and tough to follow and impossible to be social on.

I have a lot to say on this topic and have personal experience with this. Reply if you are interested and we can switch to email.

Here is a good info about someone's personal experience with mercury: www.mercurylife.com. It is one of the best websites I have seen. It is informative and not quacky.
