Vomitting caused by coughing from allergies?

by Anarashka, Jun 10, 2007 12:00AM
I am 23 years old.  The first time I had this problem, I was 19 and had just moved from FL to NC.  My allergies that spring and summer were an absolute nightmare.  I couldn't breathe, constant coughing, stuffy nose, headaches, dizziness and tenderness in my ears, and vomitting.  I was stuffy all day every day, but the severe coughing didn't start till the evenings.  It would start with a simple clearing my throat cause it itched.  Then it progressed quickly into huge wracking coughs.  From there, I spent most of the night coughing so hard that I was throwing up.  This continued until fall, when it stopped completely and it didn't happen again.  At the time, I was on allegra, flonase, and a cough supressant/expectorant that I don't remember the name of.  They were tiny golden beads, looked almost like vit e capsules.  Had to take them 3 times a day.

Anyway, I moved from NC to MA in Jan.  Sure enough, spring time came around and it all started again.  This time, it's even worse than before.  I spend 4-5 nights a week in the bathroom all night long, coughing and throwing up.  My whole body is fatigued and in near constant pain.  Sometimes I cough mucus up, but most of the time nothing comes up at all.  Even on the nights when I don't throw up, I'm up all night coughing. I cannot sleep at night at all, and I can only cat nap during the day between coughing fits.  I have tried everything.  Allegra, flonase, claritin, benadryl, sudafed, menthol, peppermint and tea tree oils in infusers, Tussinex, Nyquil, hot and cold liquids, sitting in a steaming hot shower...  Nothing has worked so far.  My doctor seems baffled, as my lungs are clear but there is obviously a problem somewhere.  Does anyone else have issues like these?

I don't have issues like these, but I can take a guess at what your problem is. I know a bit about air and what I've seen is that situations like yours is caused by a particle of some kind getting to your lungs or somewhere in your breathing system and causes you to react. What people generally don't understand is that if they filtered out this particle to begin with, it wouldn't have the chance to get to you and thus cause a reaction.

I used to have this problem, as my air used to give me trouble with my own breathing. I did a little research on Polarized Media Filters though and realized that this system made enough sense to try it. So I purchased it after asking a few questions from the company and found out it did in fact take care of my problem. So I would then suggest the same to you, and it isn't expensive to try either. It is actually inexpensive for what it gives you.

The best place for price and further information I've found is at www.airlifeone.com. The people who run that company are very easy to work with, and I haven't had a problem at all when I've had questions. When you're looking for a product I'd suggest looking more at the Electrobreeze brand, which is cheaper and has virtually no difference from the other product.

Well, I hope that I've helped you out.
