Effexor Withdrawl symptom?

by Reillyr, Mar 21, 2007 12:00AM
I have been off of 75mg effexor for 2-3 weeks now, I had been taking 37.5 doses for an extra long time because I had strong withdrawal symptoms so I was put on them for an extra month and a half while my body adjusted to the smaller doses. I have gotten through most of the bad withdrawal symptoms like massive anxiety and disconnectedness and sensory distruption. But now, I am having a problem where my heart feels like it is fluttering or beating improperly or too strongly. I was wondering if this is a normal symptom. My heart rate seems to be raised a little above normal, too. I guess it could be the anxiety I feel and then I heighten my anxiety through worrying about it. But, has anyone dealt with these issues before and is there anything I can do other than check in with my doctor? I'm very glad to be off my medication although I don't feel better off of it. But I would like to not have to take medication anymore. I am planning on calling my doctor in a couple of days to check up on my progress with quitting my medication. Is there anything that I should tell him and anything I should ask? It's very difficult to describe the feeling I'm having in my chest and I don't want to misexplain the symptoms I'm having.
