One trick that works for me I found in a book for panic disorder is take a rubber band put it on your wrist when you feel the attack coming on... SNAP the band continiously it helps transfer the t hought process... we cant focus on the panic and the sensation of the rubber band snap at the same time.. so t he brain will stop and focus on the other... I know this wont help everyone, but it is worth a try? I also drink ice cold water .. splash your face.. or i also have done jumping jacks to get my external body at the same speed my insides are turning! Again the most important thing is to GET YOUR ATTENTION OFF the symptoms! I really hopes this helps. Like I said I still suffer from them just not as often and no l onger as intense.. as the thiings I mentioned has helped me. I am certainly not cured but will live with these for the rest of my life. We ave to learn to not let them rule your life!!!! God bless you, I hope this helps at least a little =)

Also remember doctors run ECG's and do bloodtests to check your heart, if nothing strange comes up on the tests then your defenitely suffering panic attacks.
When I had mine I went and got 7 ECG's before I could believe it and went to 3 different hospitals and got blood tests and check all the things for my self and all 3 were the same.
The most scary part of a panic is the heart feeling like its going to jump out of the chest, I truly can relate to you guys and im so sorry that you guys have to put up with it.
BUT...theres is ways to stop it, if your mind is strong enough you can do it.
The trick to it is: "Force the panic attack to be worse!!" Punch it in the face and start a fight with it and see if you bites back 100% guarantee it doesnt!!
Its not a physical illness as hard as it is to believe, trust me I know I didnt believe it either.
NO MATTER the pain and anguish you go threw challenge that panic and guess what aventually after afew times you do that, it goes away and youll be lucky to see it once every 12 months.
I know it sounds like a dream guys and guess what it isn't....tell yourself next time you get a panic attack you dont care anymore and feel it.
Basicly I told myself I prefer to die than live with panic attacks..basicly i told my panic im not scared of you anymore.
I know it sounds weird but the answer is...stop caring about it and itll go away!!!
<3 you guys and hope this helps you guys, time to toughen up and kick that panic in the stomach once and for all!!!
The trick of it all is to keep your mind off it, the more you think about it the more your screwed.
Hard not to I know, but its funny once you start taking your mind off these and apply them to other things the best youll be off.
I know its hard guys, but please just hang in there, alot of people go threw and I means a hell of alot.
Anyway I gotta get some sleep im gonna mark this so I can read more posters and maybe I can help more people out...I have afew more techiques that can really get you relaxed!!

Ladawn509 listen shouldn't ever try diagnose yourself if your have any symptoms that ever worry you please go see a doctor.
Im not telling you what your feeling is serious but a doctor needs to examine to make sure, if you have seen a doctor then thats a good thing.
Also there is no shame in getting more than 1 or 2 or 3 more doctors opinions for rest of mind...hell why not I did it.
But remember when you go to hospital and get checked or your local doctor...panic attacks arent really easy to misdiagnose..technology will tell you that your all fine :))
Umm what else can I say hmm...Try lay down on something super soft, breath in super slow till you just hit your breathing peak then slowly breath out....do it over and over while feeling your abdomen pushing in and out..while doing this position your hand over your chest this will relieve your chest discomfort..while doing this process try picture yourself on a nice warm night laying on a balcony near the beach listening to the waves smoothing splashing on the shore "wooosh" light wind across the sand.
Or you can think of other things that may calm you.
