Antidepressant and Going Away

by Sumra03, Apr 13, 2007 12:00AM
I have been on paxil for about 2 yrs now, and in a couple months i will be going on a month long vacation overseas.  How should i adjust my medication?  Should take it on the time that my body is already use to? (mind you there is a 7hr time difference)  Or should i adjust taking my medicine to the new time?

I have been on Paxil for almost 10 years.  I have travelled to Italy and to China during this time....I always take my meds in the morning and I took it in the morning the new time also....A change of time should not effect you just as long as you continue to take it every day.

Thanks suzi!!  Just a question, did you feel a difference with the time?  Did you notice your anxiety was a little higher?

by suzi-q, Apr 13, 2007 12:00AM
Of course, because I am a very anxious person, I did experience higher anxiety than normal because I hate being out of routine and stress out with anything new.  However, my biggest problem was with the jet lag when I got back home......so, the trips were fun, despite my anxiety...but once I was back home, I experienced lots of anxiety which can also be considered jet lag.  I suggest having time when you get home to get reaccustomed...that was my hardest part!  Enjoy your trip!!!!!!  You will have fun!  Just take lots of deep breaths.....
