Another neuro visit...

by tarrigo, Dec 21, 2006 12:00AM
Hey All,

I have been worrying a lot lately about my symptoms.  Yesterday I called my neurologist and asked him about my EMG.  He said nothing indicates ALS at all, but if I want he would give me the number of a neuro who dealt with ALS a lot more than him.  I accepted, and now have an appointment with a neurologist at the University of Pittsburgh on the 28th.  My neuro said flat out he would give me his number if that is what I needed for piece of mind.

I am going to bring a copy of my EMG results with me, and hopefully get rid of this fear after being examined by a neurologist who has extensive experience with ALS.

I hope this can put my fears to rest.

Hi Tony.  Best of luck.  Your current neurologist has run out of options on you as far as further testing and reassuring you and is also aware that you are apprehensive under his care.  Hopefully this next appointment will ease your mind totally.  If the neuro you are going to see does not see any reason for any more tests and concurs (agrees) with your current neurologist's findings  (that you do not have ALS or any other neurological deficits), try your best to accept that as two expert opinions and be assured that you are OK.  Best of luck.  Happy Holidays.

I will do my best.  I just hope this neurologist doesn't find anything wrong!
