Important about Dizziness

by JB72987, Apr 30, 2007 12:00AM
Okay so about a month ago I randomly got Anxiety and panic one morning for no aparent reason. I went to a counselor and doctor and got Lexapro. Everytime I went to class or to a store I got scared and felt faint. I took Lexapro for about 8 days and stopped taking it because it made me feel very odd. After I stopped taking it the anxiety went way down, I can even go to Wal-Mart. I still have it slightly. The Problem lies here....I'm constantly dizzy all the time!I wasn't like this before the Lexapro, but I haven't taken it for a week and a half.

This could maybe be the problem..you tell me...for about a month now I have had a black blanket over my window and pretty much been inside everyday. Also, I've been constantly on the computer and watching TV the whole time pretty much everyday all day. I rarely go outside..maybe 3 times a week now for about 15 minutes at a crack. The dizziness is very akward and makes me very uncomfortable. I sneeze constantly and always have clear discharge from my nose multiple times per day. Sometimes my chest hurts when I get up. The top of my nose is very congested. I'm just wondering if my eyes can be dizzy from the constant TV and computer viewing in a dark room for weeks at a time. Thanks.

Sneezing and nasal discharge could very well be caused by allergies - mold, and dust mites are just some of the things in your house that could cause these symptoms. Chest pains "could" be anxiety related - best to get those checked out though, to make sure.

ABSOLUTELY!  I find that after working on a computer for several hours at a time I get dizzy!

It really sounds like you need to seek help for your condition.  If it gets to the point that your symptoms are preventing you from leading a normal life (not leaving the house!) it is time to get help.  Congnitive thearapy and/or medications are good places to start and just because one medication doesnt work for you, it doesnt mean that another wont.  Also, a lot of medications have side-effects which disappear after the body becomes "accustomed" to - a week on a medication is likely not enough time to determine whether it will be benefical to you or not and dosage adjustments may need to be made.

Sounds like it could be sinus allergies or a sinus infection....get that checked out by the doctor...also, you should never stop medication without consulting with your doctor first...I know that 8 days isn;t alot, but you should never stop a medication cold turkey..maybe there could be some side effects??????
