Someone please help me again. I have had a hell of a weekend. First off it started friday night with diahreaa about 4 times. Then on saturday i had a killer headache and was constipated. And today im still constipated but now it s sort of a greenish brown color. Also giving myself nausea from thiking about it.

I woke up in the middle of the night last night with a bout of loud intestinal noises and ALOT of gas. it subsided and i havent had it since then.

Can someone please explain this? Is this all normal and its just from me getting worked up? Thats what everyones telling me.

Also did not eat any green foods or take any iron supplements.
Someone please respond to me

I'm not sure if your symptoms are related to anxiety or not but I wanted to tell you that they could be.  I have heart related anxiety issues.  When I get some weird feeling in my chest, my intestinal tract IMMEDIATELY goes out of whack.  It is nuts.

As for the color, it just doesn't have to been something green that you ate.  When my kids eat blueberries, especially frozen ones, their stool is green.  I don't know why, but it is GREEN!  I used to hate blueberry diapers, luckily we are past that stage now.

If you have had the workup, it is very possible that it is related to anxiety.

I wish you well and hope you are feeling better soon.

thanks man you made me feel a little better. Maybe its all the blue gatorade i drank?

by 396SS, May 07, 2007 12:00AM
It could be blue gatorade - not sure.  I had a stomach virus at Christmas and my stool turned green then yellow.  My doc told me it was bile because once you have cleared your intestines - all that is left is stomach bile.  I got sick again in Feb and the same thing happened - so he is right as far as I am concerned.  PS......I had irritable bowel until about 3 years ago.  I still have anxiety, but I try to drink a lot more water.  PS....gatorade has sodium in it, so try to drink with lots of ice or alternate with drinking water.  I've heard that you don't need the gatorade unless you are really doing some aerobic activity to deplete potassium/sodium.  Could be wrong - google it:)
IBS sucks - but try to just accept it and not worry about it and it seems to not come on as often.  I think that's what worked for me.  I used to carry imodium everywhere and I just decided if I get diarrhea, I'll just take it, screw it.  So, now I don't seem to get it.  My dad got it alot about 15 years ago and he just adopted the screw it attitude and he hasn't had IBS for about 10 years now.  It can stop!

Yes, it most definitely can be related to anxiety....and all colors!!!!  My stomach is most effected by my anxiety...consitipation, but mostly diahrea...i can do all day long when I have it real bad!  And it can be the gatorade...everything is going through your system so fast that it doesn't get to digest properly...so drink plenty of water when you get the runs!!!!

don't we have just wonderful conversations on this site????????

well I definitely know how you feel as far as your hypochondriasis goes.  I'm a hypochondriac, but I was at one time an even worse CYBERchondriac.  (the same thing except using the Internet to educate (and self-diagnose) yourself with all these deadly diseases)  And that's when my life REALLY started getting miserable as far as health anxiety.  I spent hours away from my work every day just looking stuff up, and believe me when I say, it took over my life.  and it sounds like your hypochondriasis is taking over yours too.  and I can't imagine that you're NOT looking all this stuff up online so let me give you some advice.  just STOP looking all this stuff up online!  cold turkey, just stop.  no matter what you believe you have or you NEEEEED to research, just make yourself not.  remember, it took over my life - and now, my hypochondriasis is about 500x better!  the internet is great for some things, but you wouldn't believe the power it has to destroy your life (at least in a situation like ours)!  of course, if you're not a cyberchondriac then you can ignore the majority of what I just said, but no matter what I still know how you feel!!!  hang in there and just remember that you're alive now even if you think you're about to die.  so why worry about death instead of enjoy life?
