Does it stop?

by Soonerdean, May 11, 2007 12:00AM
Still taking amotriptyline for cronic pain but noticed that a side effect of this drug is nervousness, jitters, etc.  Does this go away eventually?  With any med for anxiety I notice that the jitters are side effects but have yet to find, or have a doc tell me, if these thing go away.  I'm trying to decide which is worse, the cronic pain or side effects.  Thanks again.

Is your chronic pain caused by your anxiety? I know although I have real physical issues (none life-threatening, though), sometimes the stresses and anxiety of life cause my pain to flair up.

Also, the side effects of any med should go away with continued use.  If yours have not, call your doc for a med changed.  It says this right on the pamphlet that comes with the med from the pharmacy, i.e. "side effects could include........... however, if these side effects last or are bothersome, contact your doctor."

Best to you.........
