Joey,

No, I'm not a *medical* doctor. My profession is electronics engineering (I design and build high fidelity audio amplifiers of the vacuum tube type). My passion in life is the faithful reproduction of music, whether it would be in a home environment, or in a recording studio.

Therefore, I cannot render any specific diagnosis. I merely offer objective information and recommendations. My aunt is a Psychiatrist, and I've read most of the material in her library over the years, along with various other medical publications outside of the field of psychiatry.

I'm not sure what I can add that hasn't already been discussed. If you feel like sh!t, the first step would be to see your family physician. Describe in detail how you feel, and request a physical. If a physical or organic etiology is excluded, your problem is likely psychological. In that case, referral to psychiatry would be warranted to help with your emotional/mental health. Treating any potential problems now while you are still young will greatly benefit you in the future. Most forms of pyschological illness are progressive (which means they get worse as time elapses).

The main problem that warrants treatment is the social phobia/isolation, in which case medication and behavioral therapy would prove to be of tremendous value. Examples for medication that target social phobia would include the SSRI's (Paxil, Prozac, Zoloft), and the Tricyclic antidepressants (Elavil, Tofranil, Sinequan). In severe cases, MAOI inhibitors may be used (however, these carry a dietary restriction to prevent hypertensive crisis - a steep rise in blood pressure). Examples of these are Parnate and Marplan.

I'm no different, nor am I better than anyone else who posts to this forum. Like yourself, and the others who post here, I have had my fair share of problems; some of them psychological, and some of them physical. And to be frank, the problems that resulted from the psychological component of my illness were far worse than those of the physical component. The mind is indeed, very powerful. Your own worst enemy.

Best,

Ryan

Yeah, I woke up this morning and I was pretty hot....
Like i felt around my stomech and my neck and chest and stuff...
And it was kind of...abnormaly hot....
I wasnt sweating...my body was just hot

I dont know if that has something to do with it, but thats how I felt.

I am going to ask my parents to take me in for a physical today or something...
I know my mom is just going to say "theres nothing wrong with you"

then shell probably get mad, and start yelling....
I dont know, shes odd.

I really think this should be seen by a doctor though.

After that, Ill probably have her set me up with a phsycitrist (sp?)

but yeah, when I was about to go to bed last night, I felt kind of ill...
my stomech hurt...
ect ect ect...
It seems that the pressure between my eyes has let up a bit sense I woke up.

I basically feel like im dead, yet still alive for some reason...

Joey,

You are unlikely to see a physician on Saturday, therefore, go to the nearest emergency room. Tell them exactly how you've been feeling. If they suspect an infection, etc, they will run the proper testing.

Make sure you tell them what you've written here as well. In particular, the part about feeling "dead". It's important that you tell them everything.

If your mother refuses to take you, take yourself, or find someone to drive you there. If things are unbearable, and no one is willing to take you and you can't take yourself, call 911.
Do whatever you have to do. Don't let this go one for another day, go now.

Post back when you can. Keep us updated.

-Ryan
