Abdominal Pressure Making Me Feel Uneasy

by Brandon K, May 21, 2007 12:00AM
Hey everyone.  I'm just curious if anyone else knows what this could be or has had this themselves.  I have this weird pressure or lump at the very top of my abdomen, directly under the center of my chest.  It feels like a big lump or a fist directly in the center of the top of my abdomen.  Its really worrying me ight now and I was wondering what could be the cause.  The first thing that always comes to my mind is cardiac but I'm hoping its nothing serious.  I just wanted to kind of know if I should be worried about it or if its nothing.  Its been going on since yesterday and I woke up this morning and its still there which is mainly why I'm worried.  I've thought about the ER but I don't know if that the right move.  Any advice would be great.  Thank you.

It doesnt sound heart related to me (if you had a diesese that would cause your heart to swell suddenly, you would KNOW and wouldnt be posting here), but it could be something like a hernia, or a problem with your gallbladder. In any case,  I think this certainly warrants a trip to your local doctors office for a full workup.

Good luck.

I have a lump in the center of my chest sort of between my breasts, but a little lower, and my doctor told me it is an "epi gastric hernia".  He said it is direct relation to my diseased gall bladder (too hard to explain why here, sorry).  Nothing too serious, but something to get look at and possibly operated on.  good luck!
