I am glad you went to the er. My husband doesnt understand either. He tells me just to deal with it- easier said then done. Anyway, why dont you make a appt with the doc to get the required tests just to make sure. I have had the jaw pain and the arm pain, but not at the same time. I can understand how terrified you must have been. Please keep us posted!! Good luck!
I agree with Torque. I think you should make a follow-up appointment with your regular doctor who can do the required blood work for you. Certainly, if your EKG was normal, then your heart is in good shape - a bloodtest will confirm this and likely put your mind at ease (certain enzymes are detected if one has a heart attack). Another reason for having the blood test is to rule out any other physical reasons which could cause your symptoms (thyroid, for example). I urge you to make the appointment within the next few days if you can and please tell them everything. Again, a pre-printed list will likely be beneficial and will ensure you get to discuss ALL your symptoms with your doctor (there is nothing worse than going to the doctor and forgetting to mention a worrisome symptom which leads to the concern that disease X was missed because you didnt mention symptom Y!).
Are you currently being treated for anxiety? Panic attacks arent any fun but you can learn to cope and recognise them with the appropriate therapy and/or medication. Unfortunately, anxiety symptoms are many and varied and mimic many serious diseases (heart disease, brain tumors etc. etc). Once, the serious diseases have been ruled out, its time to work on rebalacing the serotonin in the brain by whatever method you feel is right for you.
Thanks everyone for your response.
