do i have an anxiety problem??

by jbibles, Dec 31, 2006 12:00AM
hi everyone,

For past two months I have had an upset stomache,(diarrhia) weight loss, and night sweats. I constantly worry and when I do my whole upper body becomes hot and i feel weak. I ofter think I have HIV or some type of cancer. I went to the stomache doctor and he gave me Zoloft and Donatal-a medicine for an Irritable Bowel. But not i have stopped taking the Donatal and Zoloft and all my symptoms are back should I have done that I also have awful dry mouth..could that be from the medicines i had taken. And a week or so ago I had a test done for mono which came back as positve. But she said my white blood cells were low and that can happen in people who have mono. I am only 18 but i feel like i am not living anymore i dont wanna go out i hate everything i am so irritable can anyone help or has anyone experienced similar problems as mine? suggestions?

mono can definitely mess up your white blood cell count.  did your doc test for other things as well?  I doubt you have HIV, but the night sweats and weight loss could be something, definitely could be caused my the mono.  Mono can also take a long time to recover from.  I've known people that had mono and recovered in a couple of weeks and some that it took months to recover from.  I would reccomend getting a COMPLETE medical exam to rule out everything possible...get a repeat CBC, an HIV test, etc.  After all is ruled out and you've recovered from mono, if symptoms are still there then it is probably anxiety.  Also, zoloft can cause dry mouth.
