Yes, you do not need meds to beat this thing.....however, you are not going to just wake up one day and "poof" it is gone...you need to do hard work...First, if you can, get a good psychiatrist who can help you identify your source of anxiety and see what behavioral techniques he can give you to help...There are also lots of good books and programs out there that help.  So, start investingating and get to work!!!  You can do this!!!!

Barbara,

Talk to your doctor about upping the ativan during this very stressful time.  I am sure that your mom's illness is playing a very big part in your anxiety and once things calm down and she is feeling better, I bet you will begin feeling better too!  Don't beat yourself up so  much about not feeling well...it is your body's way of responding to your situation...so try to ease up....and try to stop thinking about your symptoms...when you learn to accept your symptoms and just go with it, they will begin to subside.

Yes, I beat my anxiety without drugs.  There's something called Alphacalm that is supposed to be good.  I take St. John's Wort and Omega 3, but there are lots of options.  Good luck and I'm sorry you are going through this.
