GAD and constant tachy

by Lextgrim, Jun 02, 2007 12:00AM
Is it true that generalised anxiety disorder can cause constant elevated pulse rate?

I have had sinus tachy for a month or so now and am on beta blockers.  I do get anxiety during the day but not all day, but the tachy is constant.  Resting rate can be around 90 bpm and when I move around it can go up to 120 bpm.  Sometimes more if I climb the stairs.

I had dozens of blood tests ruling out thyroid etc... and levels appeared normal to the doctors.

They are telling me it is anxiety.

Is that true?

I believe so.  My resting hr is 94 and increases significantly with minimal activity.  I went to my doctor because I thought my heart was beating too fast.  I am on Paxil now for anxiety, 25mg Paxil CR.  Doctor had me do an EKG and blood work also to rule out anything else going on, and tests returned normal.  Are you on any anxiety medication?
