SMALL BREAST LUMP, PAIN, Dr. WAITING a YEAR- 2nd Opinion Needed????

I'm 29 years old went in for my yearly exam today and the doctor found a small what he called cyst in my right breast.  I've been having some pain there and it does seem to hurt worse around my period.  I didn't even think to mention it to him as sometimes it's not noticable pain at all - he found it during the breast exam.  He said he would call it fibroid changes on my chart and let it go at that until next year.  Ever since he messed with it today, it's been hurting very bad but I'm sure that's from him pressing on it.  Would you go get a second opinion?  I hate to wait another year without knowing what this really is but I also know that my doctor is very careful and I think he would check it if he thought it were something to worry about but I'm very worried about it.  PLEASE HELP! Thanks!

Yes get another opinion. Even if he thinks it is nothing a year is to long to wait. Most doctors recommend waiting 3/4 months. My OBGYN and my PCP told me my pea size lump was nothing. I insisted on a mamo and ultrasound and it was cancer. It may be nothing but put your mind at rest and get the 2nd. I wish you well.

Yes, I would go for a second opinion to a breast specialist.  In Los Angeles, there is the UCLA Breast Center that would see you.  If you are close call them or ask your ob/gyn for a referral.  A mammogram, ultrasound or MRI should be done, I would think.  Dont wait.  I found a lump in December and now I know to go directly to the best breast specialist you can find.
