blood in FNA

Just had a fine needle biopsy done on a small lump which is directly under the lumpectomy scar (surgery a year ago for stage II).  The sample from the FNA had some blood in it, would this be any indication that the results will be positive for a recurrance?  If this is a recurrance, would the fact that I had my lymph nodes taken for analysis last year (all negative) mean that there is a greater chance for any cancer cells to spread thru the lymph system since the nodes are not there anymore to "catch" them??   Thanks for any info you can provide!

Dear vermontgirl, Having blood noticed in the sample from the FNA is not an indication of cancer, this may just be that the needle went through a blood capillary, or that the fluid collecting in the lump contained blood.  Having your lymph nodes removed in itself does not increase the chance of spread of the cancer.
