hi. my sister, 14 years old, has been complaining of a pain in her right breast for a few days now. she says it is very hard, and hurts when it comes into any form of contact. She has been admitted into hospital already, the doctors gave her an injection, to try to take out some of the 'pus' for examination. however they were unable to retrieve any, and the wound has been bleeding. the nurses predict it to be cellulitis, but there was no cut, no inflammmation, no redness or swelling. Any idea what it might be? the doctors are keeping her for a few days, and we are getting a little anxious. THX.

Dear raine0412:  Cancer at 14 years old is nearly unheard of.  A person can develop cellulitis, though, without a known injury.  As it is this painful and she is hospitalized, this sounds more likely to be the culprit.  It can take some time for the antibiotics to work if this is a bad infection.  Hopefully, all will start improving soon.
