spot on mammogram related to cervical cancer?

I was diagnosed with stage 1 cervical cancer in June, 2001. I had a TAH-HSO in July and had no radiation or chemo-surgeon was 99.9% sure this was the solution to problem. Will have checkups every 3 months for a few years. I do not fit the profile of the high risk cervical cancer patient-no children, no early sex, no multiple partners, but I did have abnormal pap tests every 3 years or so, which always cleared up on followup tests in the past. I am not on HRT since I have experienced no hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, etc. (If it aint broke, don't fix it).
In February of 2001, I had a mammogram which showed a white spot under my left nipple. An ultrasound in March also showed this spot. I am scheduled for another mammogram and ultrasound in December of 2001.
From what I have been reading in your site, the fact that I had a cancer of the reproductive organs, I am 45, I have had no children, I am overweight, and my menstrual cycles were regular, but often (about every 3 weeks), and a sister and two cousins who had breast cancer in their 40's, I am beginning to worry that I am a high risk breast cancer candidate.
In light of the managed medical care fiasco in our country, I am concerned that my doctors will not act on my concerns. (expensive tests, possibly no recovering expenses) What do you think? Should they take a closer look at this spot in December, a biopsy or whatever is necessary? Am I being overly concerned? What questions do you think I should ask my doctor if this spot is still present?

Dear Beannie: Given your history, both personal and family, you are probably at higher than average risk for developing breast cancer. That is not to say that it will happen but the threshold at which to explore abnormalities should be low. As such, I would suggest that this spot be investigated. If you are concerned, consider an opinion with a breast specialist.
