hrt/breast cancer/endometriosis

I would like to find out what connections there are with having endometriosis for 14 yrs, hysterectomy, hrt for 20 yrs, having fibrocystic breast, and the possiblility of getting breast cancer. I have done a lot of research which is very confusing, as they use a lot statics that do not allpy to me.

Dear Satrahan, There is no link associated between endometriosis or hysterectomy and breast cancer risk. Hormone replacement therapy there are differing opinions as to whether there is any significant risk. Fibrocystic (lumpy) breasts are not a risk factor for breast cancer but can make early detection of cancer more difficult.
Some of the known risk factors for breast cancer are age, family history, young age at start of menstruation, bearing no children or having children after age 30, history of previous cancer in one breast.

I have done much research and found that in my situation there is an increased risk to taking premarin for more that 5 yrs. With no childbirths, and being on hrt for 20 yrs. brings up the prcentage for me. The drs. have tried to reassure me, but I still worry. I have 2 areas on my ultrasound that warrant further evaluation. After stopping the hrt I was miserable, so I have personally decided to get back on them and take my chances. I just hope that the drs. are right. What else can I do? I do feel so much better while on hrt, but still worry. I also have hypothyroid and I know it affects other hormones. So maybe I'll be ok. Thank so much for your help.
