.Hi, I am in the process of having saline added to my expander following mastectomy. I have several more saline injections to go before my next surgery. That surgery will consist of having the expander removed and the implant placed in and also the good breast will have a small implant placed in it and the nipple will be moved up. Do you have any idea how long that procedure normally takes and what the recovery time from that surgery is.

Thank you

emmasmudgeDear emmasmudge: You are essentially referring to a breast augmentation - a cosmetic surgery. Depending on the technique, the procedure will likely take a couple hours. Recovery will vary somewhat but would usually take a few weeks. You should discuss the specifics with the plastic surgeon who will be doing the procedure. He/she can fill you in on the exact expectations based on what is intended.
