11 year old boy likes to wear mom's underware and bra

Help... I certinely don't know how to handle this one as a father... My 11 year old son has recently started sneaking my wife's underware out of her drawer. He has even gone as far as wearing it to school... Is this a normal phase that children go through or should I be concerned... His mother has spoke with him about this after she had found out and of course he dones't know why he did it, and we just found out this morning that he is still doing it. It's now time for me to get involved and I thought it best I try to get some answers on "normal" child behavior... Please help...

While this behavior in itself is not a cause for alarm, it is also not regarded as an average behavior for an eleven-year-old. It's a difficult matter for children to address with their parents. From your perspective, talk with your son about your concern for why he wants to wear this clothing and approach the matter with a stance of interested, concerned curiosity. Do not adopt a prohibitive or punitive approach. In addition, arrange an evaluation with a pediatric mental health professional. Such a clinician can figure out the nature and meaning of the behavior.

Well, probably the kid has curiosity in women, but he doesn't have any educational access to such subject and probably his approach with girls is poor. Best thing to do is not being prohibitional, simply talk to him, not a serious (i should be upset) talk, but friendly and posible show him material exposing the opposite sex in an educational way and let him keep the material. Also, hearing his point of view concerning girls is a good thing.
