tooth infection

Can a tooth infection get into the blood stream and infect other parts of the body, ie: a hip joint

Yes a tooth infection can get into the blood stream but I do not know if you mean an artifical hip joint or a normal joint. At this point patients that have artifical joints do not have to be premedicated before any dental procedure.

yes it can-- especially a prosthetic hip.
