Jaw won't move after cavity filling

by sharris7, Dec 06, 2007 12:00AM
I had a filling repaired today and the numbing has went away but I cannot move the muscles in my jaw and around my eye on my left side where the filling was. I can't smile or close my eye. The dentist office said that people react differently and that the numbing should go away. I tried to explain no numbing just can't move my muscles but they still said it was normal. It has been over 4 hours and its still the same. I have never reacted this way and I am a little worried. Is this normal?

Normal it is not, but I do think that movement will return. I would wait until tomorrow and if the situation remains the same I certainly would call the doctor.
