pimples base of penis and head of penis head

by hong kong, Dec 18, 2006 12:00AM
Hello.  About 2 months ago I had unprotected sex with a grilfriend of mine for the first time.  Around a week later i noticed 4 or 5 small pinkish pimples by the base of my penis.  I went to a doctor which was recomended to me and he said it could be moloscum and that i should come back in 3 weeks again to see how it develops.  I could not wait that long so I went to my primary doctor (who is well respected and been around for a long time) and he said it was nothing but sebaceous glands.  Even though they looked different from other sebaceous glands that I have I took his word for it and went home.  About a month later I noticed a small pinkish dot on the rim of my penis that grew to about 1 to 2mm. Which looked simillar to the pimples that were still by the base of my penis.  It does not itch or hurt when its touched.  None of these pimples have changes in any way in the past 2 month.  Only the one on the rim seemed to grow over time o the size it is now.  Thsi got me worried again and I went to a dermatologist.  the dermatologist would not tell me exactly what he thought but took a needle and seemed to withdraw blood from the shaft of my penis close to where one of the pimple were.  I am still waiting for results but have been anxious and restless.  Could u please help me with 2 questions 1-  what does it sound like this could be 2-  why would my dermatologist take a sample of fluid (but i only saw blood come out) directly from my penis?  There are no open sore and never were.  What kind of test could he of performed and why wouldnt he just take a regular blood test from my arm?  Thanks for your time and sorry for the long question.

I'm not sure what your dermatologist did with the needle--probably he wanted to see whether there was any fluid inside the bumps.  Maybe he did a culture to look for bacteria.  Basically, what you need to do is ask him what he did and how long you have to wait for results.  But these bumps don't sound like molluscum to me.  Does your girlfriend have any similar bumps in her genital area?  If not, that would argue as well against an STD of any sort.

Bottom line: ask your dermatologist for a firm opinion, which will very likely be something unimportant.

Take care.
