Reocuuring eye redness2

by JP_, Dec 09, 2006 12:00AM
I posted under a month ago about painful red eye problems, and your suggestion was episcleritis, I researched and it seems to match closely, but not exact.. you said you would have to see the eye when the redness is active, so I took a picture.

Any idea ?

that looks very, very VERY much like episcleritis.  in fact, if you are not a contact lens wearer, that is almost certainly episcleritis.  especially given the recurrent nature.

thats *exactly* what episcleritis looks like.  pretty much textbook.

okay just found and re-read your old post and my responses.

opcon-a will never fix that.  artificial tears and "dry eye" therapy will never fix that.  no oral med (zyrtec, allegra, etc) will ever fix that.

that eye needs steroids IMO.  alrex or lotemax, preferably.  you need to find an eye doc who can and will confirm that diagnosis and rx steroids.  (actually they'll be "making" the diagnosis, not "confirming" it...to keep from getting into sticky legal situations i have not "diagnosed" you with anything...)

good luck!
