After cataract surgery replaces lens will my eyes still be able to focus close and far?

no...unless you have a "focusable" IOL implanted.  if you have regular old agrden-variety cataract surgery, you will not be able to "focus" that eye at all.  you will need glasses (or contacts) for some distances, possibly all distances
