A Possible Solution For Affording Treatment!!!

by Jackiee, Dec 15, 2001 12:00AM
I think I MAY have found a way to afford treatment,  and I'm hoping that by sharing this with everyone, there might be someone else who can go this route.

My doctor's assistant had told me that my insurance would pick up ALL but 20% of treatment (They tell me I'll be taking Peg-Intron and Rebatol). She now tells me that This would mean that I would have to come up with approximately $600 per month!  Being a cashier,  I barely make that much a month and THAT goes to support myself.

She tried talking to the people at Scherring-Plough to see if THEY could help out,  but That STILL would cost way more than I can afford.

However, she told me that someone at Scherring had told her that they know of a patient who,  through their insurance, had access to MAIL ORDER PHARMACY.  She said that if Walmart (where I work) has such a thing,  I can probably go ahead with treatment

and it SHOULD cost me in the neighborhood of $20 per MONTH!!!!!

I phoned my insurance co.  and THEY DO HAVE MAIL ORDER PHARMECY!!!!!  I got their 800-number and gave it to the doctor's assistant.  So now she is going to talk to them and if all goes as planned......I can AFFORD TREATMENT!!!

Is there anybody out there who's unable to afford treatment who might be able to use this venue?  I am SO HOPING that this might help you!
