Effects of Interferon @a and Ribivorin

by DTD, Mar 30, 2002 12:00AM
Hi,

I have recently been diagnosed with Grade II, Stage ) Hep c with no fibrosis. My viral load is 449,000. One doc says with a combitant traetment with a 2a Genotype I can expect a 70% chance of cure with no recidivism.

Interferon and Ribivorin have immediate side efeects that are not pleasant can anyone please advise me as to the long term effects of the treatment on the body and organs.

I am seeing Dr. teresa Wright at the UCSF VA Hospital.

Any advice or sugestions based on experience and thhrough research would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Dave
