~~~~~~~ Cirrhosis § Treatment Length ~~~~~ 2b ~~~~~~~????
by shebee, Jan 12, 2003 12:00AM
Ok, everyone, Hubby is 2b, viral load at start 91,000.  He was dx Cirrhosis Stage4, Grade 2.
1.  Since he is at the cirrhosis stage, is the length of treatment (24weeks) the same as for other with less damage?
2. Are there any studies that indicate that he should be on treatment longer?
~~~~~~~Pegasys side update~~~~~~

By the way...Hubby was on the peg/intron for 8 weeks.  Last week he switched to Pegasys & riba.  The sides were so much easier.  This week is number 10.  Saturday morning we had SEX!  (That was a first since the beginning of tx.)  Saturday night we went out to dinner!  WOW!  Before he could not get out of bed.  Gee, I even think that he is going to be able to sheet-rock with me today.  Yea!

Today, on a Sunday, he has been up for hours...working around the house and playing with the kids.  On a scale of 1-10 (Ten being great)  he says he feels like a 7 or 8.

His legs still hurt; they are a 3.  (They were a 1-2 every day before.)

On Pegasys, he can sleep.  He was going 3+ days without sleeping before.

He has the itches & is still tired.

He does not have the big red welts from the shot.  (I was calling him spotty.)

Aw, this is so great!  I really think that he is going to be able to finish tx now.  Next week is number 11...Thank you all for being here.

You are my dr.'s assistant, personal friends, and support group all rolled up into one.

Your,

Shebee
