You can post a question to Dr. Cecil at his website:

He provided a detailed response to my question within three days.

Good luck,

Susan

Glad Susan posted the site for you.  I was hoping also that someone with problems with gallbladder would also post.   Nope,,,you haven't used your quota on questions...lol  Alot of ask questions here daily so don't worry. Maybe someone new lurking here can help out.  Hope you get some answers soon!

Speaking for myself, I don't feel knowledgeable enough about this issue  to contribute anything, and I bet that explains a lot of the silence you're hearing.   Please don't feel ignored by the rest of us.   (Aren't  TB and Honey wonderful human beings, by the way?)  You might also address your question to "The Doctor Is In" at http://www.hivandhepatitis.com.   And come to think of it, If you look through our archives you can find a month old post from the Hepguy on the gallbladder.  Apparently there is a strong documented link between Hep-C and gallbladder disease, and it is now known that the virus can also infect the gallbladder.  As for throwing interferon into the mix, I just don't know. Sounds like you had a traumatic time of it and I hope you find some answers soon.   That won't undo the suffering you experienced, but it could help in the long run with recovering peace of mind.   Best to you.

I don't think there is such a thing as "allergic gallbladder". My man had an "infected" gallbladder w/no pain so it wasn't an attack......he just got deathly ill and almost died from it. He laid in bed for 4 days with a fever and thought he just had the "flu". The longer he laid there the sicker he got. His temp reached 104. He spent some time in ICU. That was in July 2002. That was the beginning of our HepC journey.  Gallbladder problems can be caused by HepC or Pancriatitias or be heredity and a range of other things. The docs said my man would have died if he hadn’t gotten to the hospital when he did. I had an Aunt (before I was born) die of an infected gallbladder so it isn’t to be taken lightly.

Good luck to you!

not long after my 1st shot, maybe an hour or so. I had SEVERE pain under my breast bone up rt. shoulder and in my back. I almost went to the ER. b4 tx my gallbladder was fine no stones etc.

I ended up having it taken out after about 8 weeks of tx. I couldn't eat much had pain etc. It ended up having multiple stones and alot of slush in it.

I never had any trouble with it b4 tx. So it kinda makes you wonder
