my son has been coughing uncontrolably and has had a constant feaver that go form 99.9 to 105.3. usually very active, he now will not even get out of bed and will not eat. (he is 4 years old) the doctor told me it was a bacterial infection and gave me amoxil. he has been taking for 3 days now and still no change. what could this be? and what can i do to help him get better?

hello,

Has he been back to the doctor?? If not he NEEDS to go back.. espically if he has a fever.. you need to make him drink fluids keep him hydrated.. Take him back to the doctor.. has he ever taken that medicine before?? if not the reason hes NOT getting better is because he could be having a negative reaction to it.. has he gotten worse?? he might need something different to take.. Try to give him some juice and soup.. Is the reason he wont eat because his stomach hurts?? hes just not hungry or does he just not feel like it?? convenice him to eat... Just take him back to the doctor.. see whats going on.. Hope i was of some help.. Take care and keep me posted.. i hope he gets better soon!!

I am really sorry to hear about your little boy.  I think that if he has not gotten better by now I would take him to an emergency room.  They will run test on him to find out what is wrong. I wouldn't be willing to just wait to see if the medicine works with the Sars virus around. I hope things get better for you.
