High Progesterone??? HELP!!!!!!!!!

I am currently on 50mg Clomid.  My progesterone levels were 3-4 before Clomid.  My test this month was 58!  I took  an HCG and it was neg for pregnancy.  WHat could this high progesterone mean?  Any ideas?  ANY info  would help!!!!!!

High progesterone can be caused by a couple of things.  Are you taking any exogenous progetserone like a natural progesterone cream? Are you under a lot of stress?  Adrenal hyperfunction or overactive adrenal glands can result in elevated progetserone levels.  I would look toward having your adrenal function evaluated.



High progesterone can cause depression as well as blood sugar regulation issues.  It can also increase risk for certain cancers as it changes the ratio of progesterone to estrogen.



I would again look at the adrenal glands as a very possible cause of some of the high level.  You can try a chasteberry supplement.  Chasteberries has the ability to regulate hormone levels.
