| ttbluigrl 8/13/2003 | . | My last period was June 15. I had positive at home pregnancy test on July 11. I went in at 5 weeks for blood work which they said came back ok 2500 HCG levels. I went in on Aug 5 for a us and they said there was a gestational sac but no fetus or heartbeat. They said i should have a d & C done if i didn't miscarry in a week. I went back in a week and no more work was done which worried me. I insisted on another us and the tech said that nothing has changed. I was in the hospital doing my pre-op when the dr. called and said to cancel it there was a yolk sac present but no heartbeat and we may be off on the dates. I'm very confused and i'm seeing another dr tomorrow. I've had no bleeding or cramping. Could my dates be off? Why wouldn't they be able to detect a heartbeat. I can't believe that if I hadn't insisted on another us I would be recovering from a d & C right now. Please help, i'm very confused. This is my first pregnancy. |
| mimmi 8/13/2003 C1 | . | If you LMP is July 11th, then you are 4 weeks. You cannot see any heart beat before 6 or 7 weeks. The only thing you will see for now is a sac. Have you asked for the HCG to be done 48 hours apart? That way you will know if it is doubling or not... Wish you all the best and take care. |
| momof2princesses 8/13/2003 C2 | . | Hi ttblu, I had my last period on june 17 and I didn' t see my dr. until the 1 st of august and then a few days later I started to bleed and miscarried, BUT when I went in for the bleeding I had a U/S and she didn't see anything, she said you usually see the sac at around 5 weeks and sometimes you don't see the fetus or anything until a week or so later, so if your dates are off or you conceived a little later than what they think you could be fine, I would wait it out, and get your Hcg checked again and your prog. to make sure they are rising. And definetly get another opinion, Thank goodness you didn't get the d&c! Take Care and let us know how your doing!! Good Luck K |
| hther 8/14/2003 C3 | . | How off does you doc think you are? I mean June 15th is LMP for you that would make you on your 8th week according to LMP. About 6 from conception (estimation). Mimmi- lMP was June 15 and + HPT July 15. |

| ourporsche 8/14/2003 C7 | Timework | I think you are 11 wks pregnant from you lmp and almost 9 wks from conception (estimate) I may be wrong but my lmp period was May 29th, in July 1 I was 9 wks pregnant, and 7 wks from conception. There was no heartbeat so I had a prostin termination, miscarriage on August 1. You should ask your doctor but I think you are longer than what you say. Best of Luck to all Bel |
| cammom 8/14/2003 C8 | . | Your dates could be off. Mine were and I was in a similar situation as you. My last AF was on June 13 and I got a BFP on July 17. I was pretty sure I knew when I o'd, but obviously I was off a bit. When I went in for my 7 wk visit, they only saw a sac. I had blood tests and they were good but not great. Today (10 days later) I had my second u/s and the baby and a heartbeat were present. I also measured at 7 weeks 2 days. So, eventhough my last AF was June 13, I am not 8 weeks and 6 days pregnant. Something slowed down the process - ovulation, conception, implantation - who knows. My doctor was right when he said this is not an exact science. Stay patient. I hope it works out well for you too. | aishah 8/15/2003 C9 | . | Im also the same my last lmp was june 6 which should make me now 10weeks but i am 8 and 3 days i had a scan at at wot i thought was 7 weeks and the seen yolk sac but no fetus. I went back 1 week later and they saw the fetus and heartbeat and i was 2 weeks off by my dates. The docs dont know everything. Dont let them push u into anything. Only go ahead if u r sure u have lost it. Ask for Hcg levels to be tested and another u/s. Good luck |
| Charis 11/5/2003 C10 | . | Hi, I went for first u/s at 7w2d. My LMP was 9/14/03. Dr. saw sac measuring 7w2d but baby 6w2d and no heartbeat. The dr. seemed pretty negative.
