I was x-rayed

by shbaby, Aug 15, 2003 12:00AM
I was just in a car accident and was rear-ended. Since then I have had dozens of x-rays, been put on Hyrdrocone and even had two mixed drinks. I have been trying to get pregnant for a couple of months but was tested in the ER and it came back negative. I bleed a couple of days ago which reconfirmed that I was not pregnant. It stopped however and I decided to take a pregnancy test this morning, 2, both positive. I'm totally freaking out now because I want this baby so much and have been doing all of the right things (no meds, no drinks, etc.) to get pregnant, up until the point of my pregnancy - now what? Is my baby doomed.

No, your baby is not doomed! :)  The most critical weeks are between 3 to 7, when the organs and limbs begin developing.  Take good care of yourself from here on out and all will be fine.  Be sure and make an apt with an obgyn ASAP - and congratulations!!

Casey1,  Thanks for the encouragement!  I hope and pray you are right, I just want a healthy baby.

Hi shbaby,  I got a mammogram when I was two weeks pregnant ( I had no clue I was pregnant); I was worried like you.  I talked to the center that did the ultrasound and my ob and they said that the ultrasound was low dose and I did wear one of those robes over my abdomen.

Ask about the xrays and maybe they can give you a level 2 ultrasound, it will give you piece of mind!!
