| . | Hello This is my first cycle on clomid, and I am a little nervous just by all the stuff I have read. I started day 1 yesterday and so far so good, I am not sick, a little nauseaous last night and little dizzy when I laid down for bed, but otherwise good. Could some of you tell me your experiences on Clomid? SO then I know that if I get those symptoms its just part of the treatment. I have heard that you can lose your sight? Is that true? Does anyone know what the chances of that are? What are some of the other side effects? THanks Kendra | |

| . | Also if you've been on Clomid did you use Robitussin in addition to the clomid and did that help? I've heard to do that to, but does it really help? Thanks Kendra |

| . | I don't want to scare you, but I was on Clomid for about 9 months. My symptoms were that of a normal period, maybe a little moody. Since I've stopped, I've had nothing but trouble. I don't know if that is due to the Clomid or if my body is just wacky. I hope it works for you, but If I were you, I wouldn't stay on it longer than 6months, even if the Dr's tell you otherwise. Happy baby making. |

| . | HI I was on clomid for three months with my first pg I had no side effects at all. I did not get pg on the month i took it but the month after I stopped. 1 yr later I took it again for 2 months and got pg on the second cycle again no side effects. I took no other medication when i was taking clomid. In april/may this year I approached my doc for another go at clomid as i had been trying for 18 months and had 1 pg which eneded in m/c sept 02 but i really wanted baby number 3. The doctor thewn said I would have to see a fertility specialist as here in the uk clomid is no longer perscribed without the specialists permission. I told her i had taken it before with no probs but she said it may cause cysts on the ovaries so it has to be given under observation and that it cannot be taken for more than 1 year. I was going to arrange appt with specialist but i fell pg in june naturally, and i am now 13 weeks pg. Anyway sorry about the long story hope it expalins a bit and good luck. |

| . | I was on Clomid for 6 months. I had a lot of side effects while using it, including difficulty sleeping (often woke up in the middle of the night), hot flashes, and big mood swings. It also lengthened my cycle quite a bit. I wouldn't ovulate until day 19 or 20. I never got pregnant while using it but I have heard of others having success on it. Hope this helps. Good luck! |

| . | I personally have never been on it but my aunt was on it after trying naturally for 2 years. I know she said she had mood swings really bad, but that was it. Anyways she ended up with twins. |

| . | I've been on clomid for 8 months. I'm seeing an RE and he sees no problem with this (I was concerned longer than 6 months). I finally conceived on the 8th month, but unfortunately, I ended up miscarrying. Anyway, I think a lot depends on why you are on it. For me, without it my cycles could be 47 days long. On clomid, I had regular 29 day cycles. I did experience hot flashes and night sweats, however when I started taking it at night, this all went away. Clomid is making me ovulate at a "normal" time, which is necessary to conceive. So I will stick with it until my RE feels it's time to move on to something else. Let me know if you have further questions. |

I am the same way my cycles are all over the place so I never knew if or when I was ovulating. They did the day 21 prog. test and it came back only 1.1 so she said something was off, but then I got pg and m/c so now I am on day 2 of my clomid cycle. I hope it works. Are you using a OPK also or do you just know when you ovulating? What dosage are you on? I am on 50 mg. Do you have any children already? When was your m/c? Are you doing okay withit? Have you started to try again? I haven't had to many side effects, a little hot flashes at night when I am getting settled for bed but not too bad. I am crossing my fingers, For me and you both---Well for all of us in this room, we all deserve it!! Thanks so much for your reply, Kendra
Oh and also did you use robitussin in addition to the clomid, I have read that it helps with the hostile mucus when your on clomid. Do you know anything about that? Thanks!! |

I have been using OPK's while on Clomid starting around day 12 and always getting a positive day 15. I recommend the clear blue easy brand. The time I got pregnant, I did use the Robittusin - I started taking it when I started testing. That month I also had a trigger injection, so who knows what "worked". I was on 50 mg, cycle days 3-7. I m/c'd 8/12 and am now awaiting AF. I need to have 1 cycle on my own and then I will do a "clomid challenge" - 100 mg x 5 days with blood work day 3 and 10 and an ultrasound day 14. I have no children yet and am anxiously waiting to become a mom! Hope this is of help to you. Jen |

| new here.. and to momof2princesses |
Hi new here just to introduce myself.. i'm 23 and dh is 27 we have been ttc for 31/2 years with no success, i have taken clomid 50 mg for about 2 months then up'd to 100 mg one time day for 5 days on cycle days 5-9.. seemed to be ovulating but accomplished nothing but horrible mood swings, and slight depression.. finally had my progesterone level checked and it was really low.. so now i'm thinking that this could be my problem.. so maybe clomid and a progesterone supplement would make it happen !! any suggestions ?
momof2princesses,
just had a quick question, i noticed that your progesterone level was almost the same as mine. I just received my bloodtest back today and and according to the diagram during the luteal phase (which i had mine taken on cd 21 and it was 1.6) the levels are supposed to be 3.3 - 25.6 , which would mean that mine is really low.. anyway, my question is are you being treated with any other med like natural progesterone i havent got to discuss the levels with my dr yet, but just wondering if anything else could help that, because i know that that progesterone can have a big part in getting and staying pg.. thanks to all and sorry so length-y :) goodluck to all

I had the same concerns when I had my m/c in aug. My dr. said if my AF wasn't regular then when they did the day 21 prog. check then It wasn't the right time for me maybe it needed to be done later or earlier. WEll she doesn't think I need any prog. supplements she doesn't think they really work all that well. But I did go buy some from a nutrition store, its just a prog. cream. Hey I figure it can't help, I have also heard to start taking B6, that that will help in your prog. levels. My dr. felt the clomid would do the trick, I think while making you ovulate it also aids in your prog. level increase.
I hope this helps, I know its very frustrating to see your numbers so low and then you think maybe your dr. overlooked something that could help you get pg and stay pg. I honestly don't know why my prog. is so low, hopefully it wont' stay that way, It did when I got pg in June It was 1.1 when I took the day 21 and then 1.1 when I had my m/c in Aug. so I think there is something there, in the fact that prog. levels do affect your pregnancy. BUT it's all very confusing to me. All we can do is keep trying and keep our chins up, It will happen for us, we deserve it. Take Care and best of luck to you!! Kendra |

| . | Thanks , I hope it happens soon for all of us trying, this is so devestating month after month... I have heard alot about natural
progesterone the transdermal cream kind is supposed to be better and it takes a little bit longer to get your body regulated but that it does it more evenly than if you were to take prometrium or provera but anyway, i thought about getting some to try too. I figure that it couldnt hurt ! thanks for the response
lots of wishes to all goodluck :)

| . | I am about to go on Clomid on my next cycle. My doc (RE) says that my cycles are too long (~38 days) and so my egg has gone "bad" by the time I ovulate (sort of like its been waiting in “queue” being exposed to the “elements” for too long). So he is putting me on Clomid (days 3-7) and progesterone suppositories (days 14 to period or 10wks along) to stimulate ovulation earlier and then supplement my prog. (the prog. is just in case that is the problem, but he thinks its only a slight chance that that is a problem. It is more likely that I just ovulate too late in my cycle so the Clomid should do the trick on its own). I have heard a few horror stories about hot flashes from using Clomid, but in general everyone says that it is worth it. My doc is pretty sure that I will be able to conceive and the pg will "stick" if I simply ovulate earlier (I've had 2 miscarriages in the past year). We are also going in for all the initial tests to confirm that something else isn’t the problem. We'll see!! I am excited that something is happening though and I am not just waiting for those two precious fertile days to make love and then hope it worked...this seems much more 'proactive.' Good luck to all of you!
