| . | I checked my cervix today and it was really high and really soft, Only thing I noticed that was off was there was the little hard bump on it. It felt like the size of a "nerd" the candy....Only thing I can think of to compare it to.
It felt wierd. I have never felt this last month or the month before when I started learning how to check my cervix and the doc never said anything before about this! I am worried! Has anyone heard of this or know what it could be?????!!!! |

| . | Well, I had a bump once. It was found during my routine annual exam.
It was a "nerd" sized little thing that was sticking out of the opening of my cervix. It was called a polyp (sp?) and it was easily removed. I have no idea if you have the same thing, but my doc decribed it as a little droplet of skin on a stem. But the stem was up in my cervix so it wasn't dangling - it was just sitting there held by the sides of my cervix.
They went in and clamped on it and twisted it like you would twist a stem off of an apple. They did an biopsy, which is normal procedure, and it came back fine. That was about 5-6 years ago and I haven't had another one return. |

| . | No, there was never a choice of leaving it alone.
I was in college and the time and was getting examined by my school's health clinic when it was discovered. I told my mom and she made me an appt. with her own OB/GYN because she didn't want to mess around. I believe it was almost 3 weeks before I went in to have it removed. They had to have time to get my pap results back and transferred to the new doc. So it's not like it was life or death and they were rushing me into emergency surgery - but there was never a choice of leaving it alone. |
