Acne and Facial hair from hugging

by research doc, May 13, 2004 12:00AM
Women who have partners that use prescription topical testosterone (male hormone) are at risk for elevated male hormone themselves according to the product label. Symptoms from this situation could be increased facial hair, new onset of abdomen or chest hair, and acne. If more severe symptoms are paresent there may be balding, irregular periods and voice changes. A clinical study has shown that levels of male hormone can increase 4-6 fold in female partners of topical male hormone users under certain conditions. Some experts say they have never seen a problem case from such transference of the drug. My theory is that no one has looked. Is anyone aware of a situation where such symptoms have developed because of a partner's topical male hormone use?

I'm not trying to be rude, but are you on the right forum??? I'm not sure what this would have to do with pregnancy or TTC?

There is a forum titled Dermatology that you may find more helpful than this one. This forum is mainly concerning Maternal-Child matters. Trying to get pregnant, pregnant, or infants and children. I am not sure how useful you would find the information presented here.

Hey all!!!!!   I'm still here.   Just haven't been on at work lately and the home computer runs slow.   Thank you to all who have responded to my Godmother gift ideas.   Emma thanks for asking about me.   I really hate not coming here all the time like before.   I am in my 23rd week and feeling more and more movement sometimes very uncomfortable but like Chloe I am enjoying it all.   We are in the process now of trying to sell our home.  It is so stressful.  We found one we liked so we have 25 days (as contracted) to sell ours.   I think it may be priced a bit high even though it is a wonderful home but the realtor seems to really like it and thinks it will go.  Please wish us luck.   I already have nursery stuff picked out (Care Bears) and I want a new home to put it in.  Well I should get going for now.   Congrats on the new BFP's  and my sincere apologies to any recents m/c's here.  I have not read in about 2-3 days so I am out of the loop.   I hope all of the rest of you are doing well.   Take Care & Good Luck with everything.

Hello? No posts avail for today? What's going on???

I have a question for anyone in the dental business or nurses..etc. I had an appt this mornig for one wisdom tooth to be taken out w/ anesthesia and laughing gas.  Well I drank orange juice this a.m., so they sent me home! and rescheduled for Wed. Well, WED. is CD14 for me. I usually ovulate later than that but this is my 1st round of clomid, so I don't know if I'll o' earlier or not.

Does or can anesthesia and laughing gas have ANY effect on ovulation itself?? I really can't afford to mess this clomid cycle up.

BLONDIE- hey there, glad to hear your doing well and keeping busy. WOW, just about 6 months already! Well Take Care, before you know it you'll be UNpreggo....w/ your beautiful addition to your family! ;o)

Angel4Johnnyb-Glad you're doing well. Thanks for telling me about the impaction thing! That is exactly how I felt yesterday. I was sitting on the potty with cold sweats, light headed and just vomiting everywhere! Maybe that is what was wrong.

Andi-No baby yet???? I believe you about the whole walking thing. I walked and walked with my DD and guess what, no baby! I tired anything anybody told me and let me tell you, when that baby is comfy, there is no budging it till it is ready and willing!

All-So okay I have noticed cellulite!!! ALREADY!! I am only 12 freakin wks!! Where the h*ll is this coming from??? Now I have to tell you how I noticed this...I have been avoiding looking at my butt in the mirror just because I know it's getting fat, I don't need visual confirmation. Well, this morning my DH says "How did you get that HUGE hickey on your butt?" So, curious, I look at my butt in the mirror and sure enough I have a hickey on my butt about the size of a coffee can lid. I took a bath last night with my DD in our tub and turned on the jets for her...apparently I sat on the intake valve without realizing it and gave myself a butt hickey! So anyway-that's how I cam eot notice my cellulite!! Agghhh!!!!

Kassimom: LOL...you too funny!!! LMAO!!! ;o)

Childatheart: may be a stupid question but at fertility friend.com, do they make the ovulation line for you so you know when you ovulated or is that something we need to do ourselves?

I just joined there myself. CD9 today and counting....going to be a LONG month!

How are you today?

You posted last night in thurday's forum that you were having AF like cramps.

Hope you feel better.

My last lmp was on 4/14/04.

Should of started 5/11/04.

Only feel, slight cramps and twinges, on and off, slight low back pain, on and off, but really no breast symptoms.

Your cycle is almost identical to mine, do you have the breast symptoms, or no?

Thanks,

Valerie.

To: ***************Hey Everyone**************
Hey everyone. I'm late coming around today. I was busy with the boys. TIRED too. Another beeping night awake from 4:00am to 6:30am, what can I do about this. I am exhausted!

Chloe, I'm sorry your boyfriend is being a meatheat! What is he lying to you about? Hope everything is ok....keep in touch.

Christie, you off tonight?

I remember someone asked me about the dopper: Well, DH and the boys thought it was great. My oldest could sit there all day and listen to the different sounds, he loves it. It's a wonderful thing to share with them, how many kids get to hear an unborn baby's heartbeat. So cool. I am 10 weeks/ 5 days today. I picked it up yesterday and today, takes a bit. What I actually thought was the heartbeat wasn't, I found the heartbeat and it was much faster. I love it. Worth every penny!

Emma, get yourself a doppler, it's such a relief being able to check the baby whenever you want.

Well, hope you all are doing well!!!

Hey Silo!

Hi there!  The AF cramps have subsided somewhat today, but I have had a lot of breast tenderness today.  Also, today I didn't have the gassiness that I did yesterday.  So it seems to be changing every day!  Amazing how our bodies work.

Today I'm concerned about exercise during pregnancy.  For four months now, I've been doing 5 days a week of intense treadmill (not running but walking VERY fast) at a high incline.  I'm usually exhausted and soaked by the end of it.  My thinking was that I should continue to do it for as long as I CAN because in no time at all I'll be as big as a beachball and won't be able to.  But now that I've been leafing through some pregnancy books, I'm getting freaked because they all say not to get overheated and not to have your pulse higher than 140, which goes against what I do on that treadmill every day.  I don't know how much HARM I could have done since I only ovulated 2.5 weeks ago!!  But I guess I should tone it back a bit.  I think I'll buy one of those heart monitors so I know exactly what I'm doing, but it's difficult to keep track of your body temperature while you're exercising!!

Anyway, how are YOU doing?  Are you going to have a doctor or a midwife?  I'm pretty certain I'll go with a midwife.

by Kassimom, May 14, 2004 12:00AM
cmn-Yes, thank you for asking! I feel much better! I think Angel was right and that maybe I had impaction (whatever the heck that is) but her symptoms described me perfectly yesterday. Although, the way she put it was I had to be constipated first. I thought I was pretty regular although I have noticed that the output hasn't equaled input....so it must have been that impaction stuff!! Oh well! I am over it it seems! How are you doing?

Emma1-How are you today? You should be able to hear the heartbeat I would think.

Well, I am off to pick up DD from school and then drive 2.5 hrs to my in-laws!! My DH is out of town AGAIN and I don't want to spend the weekend alone (besides, it means a whole wweekend of not having to cook!!:) I hope everyone has a great weekend!!

In the manual for my doppler it says that the swishing sound you are likely to pick up first is actually your placenta. the sound is slower and irregular. The baby's heart will be faster and more regular. Glad you found it! And I too have noticed with mine that the little peanut must move from time to time because the HB is harder to locate sometimes than others! :)
