HI. My husband just had one last week. It was very easy. The sample goes into the plastic cup, and he drove it down to the hospital lab. The results came backBack pain - low Back strain treatment about 10 days later, and listed a breakdown of the speed (motility), concentration, and general makeup of the sperm itself. I think he was actually glad to be able to take on even a tiny bit of the burden of this whole process.
My husband has had two analyses completed. While it was a tad embarrassing for him (he's very shyMultiple system atrophy) he was happy to be able to help in our process.
One thing that really helped was being able to do it at home and bring in the sample, so that could be the best option if your DH has that choice. I dont think mine was too thrilled at the thought of doing it at the hospital--I think he's seen too many movies! It's pretty funny when you get the breakdown and it describes the condition of the sperm--he had 2 with 2 headsHead and face reconstruction Head injury Head lice Indications of head injury Radial head injury! How bizarre?? I think that freaked him out, but I thought it was funny. Good thing those are the slow swimmersSwimmer's ear Swimmer's ear !
Hope that helps.
