Birth Control Pills?

Has anyone heard of doctors prescribing birth control pills to get rid of a cyst on the ovary??

My friend's specialist did. Never heard of that???

I was put on b/c pills 15 yrs ago to shrink a cyst they discovered on my left ovary.  It worked.

My specialis wanted to do the same thing.  I was seeing him to try and get pregnant, I was waiting to start af and she never came.  I am pregnant.

Yes, it is very common since most cyst and tumors and hormone feed

they will change the level and therefore usually resolve.

Yes, this happened to me.



I had to do injectable drugs to get pregnant with my now 6 week old beautiful son.  =)  After my first failed cycle of Bravelle, I had so many large cysts on my ovaries that my Reproductive Endocrinologist (infertility specialist) put me on a round of Desogen to shrink the cysts.



The next cycle we did the Bravelle again and I got pregnant.  =)



It is a common way to shrink the cysts.  Not sure how it works-I assume something with the hormones.
