Any Advice Re: Ovulation/Temperatures plse?

Hey guyz, actually managed to get a question in myself for once!! lol!  sorry, did post this on an open forum by accident so might get loads of answers the same, not quite sure how the system works here yet.  I've been trying to chart my ovulation over the past month or so, and taking my temperature every morning, I heard that once you have ovulated, if your temperature increases after ovulation and remains high, it could be a possible early sign of pregnancy or is that not true? Its been that long since I've had a baby, (youngest being 10) that I've also forgottem what the usual first early pregnancy signs are and how soon they occur, pre period due date or after period date? Many thanks for any assistance.  Period is due on 24th November, holding my breath and crossing my fingers, though I have that feeling, I don't know whether it is wishful thinking or not. XX

Do you have your chart online so we can take a look? Usually if your temp stays up for 18 days or  more they say that you may be pregnant. That said I know I couldn't be patient that long I would test way before that lol.

Nah, I don't think I could wait for that long either!! due on 24th, usually come on exact date, so will be testing on 25th November if nothing happens.  Keeping fingers/toes and all else crossed!! had miscarriage in September so been a bit traumatic, have had a normal period though for October.

I actually had two spikes in temp after ovulation.  The first one was right after I O'd and then it went spiked even higher after that and remained elevated.  I am now 18 weeks pg.  I hope this helps.

My doctor says that if you wait until 1 week after you expected your period to start to take a test, there is less disappointment when you are not pregnant (only 1 negative test instead of 2).  If you aren't pregnant, your period will usually start in that week time frame.  She also said that only about 5% of women ovulate and/or start their period on the same day each month, which is why she doesn't consider anyone late until they a week has past with no period after their expected start date.

Trust me, I am not the most patient person in the world, but I can't take more than one negative pregnancy test in one month.  You guys must be stronger than I am.

Yes, there is a free service, (or at least its free for the moment, am seriously considering signing up after free month or so is up though) at www.fertilityfriend.com, it was recommended by someone on this forum to me and is great, though I do only use the temperature taking part of it, it can still set up an ovulation mapping system for you.  The only reason I started trying to find out my ovulation cycle was because I was tired of jumping my hubby's bones every night in the hope that I'd fall, getting too old for all that (lol!) though he aint complaining!

Keeping fingers cross X

Good luck to all others trying, thinking of you all.

Fertility friend is a good site you can also continue to use it free after the one month free trial is up. The only difference is you don't get all the bells and whistles with it but it still gives you crosshairs for ovulation. If you want to buy a software that you can put on your home computer and you can also upload your charts to the web I recommend Ovusoft. I loved it and it is so much easier to understand. If you have anymore questions let me know.

Gill & Tres_ Thanks ladies,  I will try that out as soon as I get back home today.

My husband and I are planning on trying another cycle of ICSI starting from January 2005. I am still thinking about it because It is expensive and I am not sure I can face any more disappointment but since we have changed our hospital to a different on, my husband thinks It will be worth a try But I intend to try naturally for this month as I will start my pills from December. Please pray for us,It has started to really affect me, since we have been trying for over 6years. Is there any other person going through the same? I like to Know how they are dealing with the situation.
