effexor side effects

I have been taking effexor xr for about 3-4 months now.My current dose is 225 mg every day -I take 150 mg at bedtime and 75 mg at lunch or early afternoon usually. For the last 2 months I have noticed that when I am going to sleep, whether at night or just taking a nap,my hands and arms jerk.Sometimes, and this is becoming more frequent, my lower body jerks also and my eyes act like I'm blinking real hard(thats the only way I can describe it).My question is -is this the effexor-and do I need to be concerned about this.

Christine,

Product information states that Effexor may cause neuromuscular twitching, such as you describe. I urge you to discuss your concerns further with your treating physician/psychiatrist.

I have been taking effexor for 3 weeks, and I have had the same side effects since around the third day on it.  However, my body experiences this little twitches throughout the day as well.  No one else seems to notice it, as they are small, quick twitches, but I must say it annoys me.  The muscles in my arms and legs seem to just have a little spasm or jerk every now and then, in no apparent order.  I find it usually happens when I am relaxed--sitting at a table, watching T.V. or going to sleep.  I've never noticed it giving me any problems during exercise or any type of activity where I'm not relaxed.  Hasn't affected my eyes, but ever since I've been taking it, my teeth chatter when I shut my mouth.  Trying to stick it out for now, but thinking about coming off it.
