.I suffer from GAD & was given Effexor for 6 mos which my psychiatrist changed to Paxil 20 mg for past 2 mos. During the past month I smoked grass 10 times & since then I have begun smoking a pack of cigarettes after 9 years that I stopped smoking.

I now have a sudden crave for cigarettes and can’t control it. I hate myself for giving into this crave but can't help myself, I shake all over if I can't have it. In addition, the past week I feel terrible sudden sadness and change in mood, even when I’m in a most relaxed environment.

I saw my psychiatrist yesterday, he has continued 20 mg Paxil + 10 mg Elatrolet and called me in 1.5 mos. I’m scared I don’t want a rerun of my uncontrollable old depressed moods. I suddenly feel scared, sad, shivery, depressed about nothing in particular. I was with family a few days ago having a relaxed time I suddenly felt the need to run away from there, just leave & lay under the covers. I could not do that.

Also I get very nervous if my husband or 23 yr old son worry or don’t feel good as they are my only support. I’m here only for the two of them.

Why is this happening, I was so high on the Effexor and doing OK on Paxil for 2 mos. Until last wee? If you’ve encountered something similar please advise me? Thanks so much. Good luck to you too.
