Spots on MRI and High White Blood count

My husband has not been feeling well for years but it is getting worse. He feels week, tired, always has a slight pain in his neck.  It's hard for him to explain exactly how he feels-he just knows that something is not right.  He started going to the doctor about 4 months ago and has had all kinds of xrays - blood tests - and a mri of his brain.  The neurologist said there were a couple dark spots at the top of his head but he said those might be normal.  My husband is 47 and has worked in the construction field doing hard labor all his life. He is now unable to work. He had a bad bout with vertigo a couple years ago which have left his ears ringing ever since.  The first blood test came back with his white blood cell count a little elevated.  He had another blood test a month later and his white blood cell count was 11.2.  The next month it came back at 11.8 (he also had a horrible sty on his eye when they drew the blood and gave him antibiotics)  He is going for one more blood test today.  Should we be doing something else?  Do you think there may be some connection between the spots on his MRT and his white blood cell count?

We did take the MRI to a neurologist.  He ruled out MS and didn't see anything else that alarmed him.

I just called and got the results of the last blood test and now the white blood cell count is back to normal.

But...he still does not feel well.

I have a feeling this is going to be one of those things that takes years and many more doctors to figure out.
