vision, balance and headache problems

4 months ago I had a sudden onset of blurred vision which partially went away in a couple of hours. It followed by extreme fatique, constant headache, vision problems (colour spots in vision, halos around lights, poor visibility at night, hard to distinguish similar colour shades, impossibility to focus), feeling like a curtain fell on my eyes, unsteadiness, red eyes in the evening, nausea and eye pain. Also when I look at pictures of myself nowadays one eye seems to be more open than the other- a difference I haven't noticed before.
I went to the ofthalmologist and they did a slit-lamp test but didn't find anything - they also said that because they didn't see anything with the dilated pupil I cannot have a tumor. The the optometrist said that I my right eye is a big wondering - but I never ever had that before. My astigmatism also seems to have increased, but when I put on better glasses which made my vision sharper, I was seing double lights.
I cannot concentrate as well and I obviously cannot work very well. I cannot drive, and these symtomps are every day after day after day. I am only 23 so I don't understand what can cause this. My neurologist finally scheduled me for an MRI. Any cues? Someone suggested depression and anxiety , but to be honest with you the only thing I feel anxious about is this.

Have you considered a problem with your vestibular system? All these symptoms can be related to a problem with your cranial nerves, try visiting a physiotherapist specialising in vestibular rehabilitation.Hope this is helpful.

Gday..
Your story seems so much like mine..i too had the vision symptoms like yours and i had vertigo and unsteadiness with it and i still have it now 7 years later,i have just got to get on with life the best i can..
From my photos of when i first got symptoms with my eyes my left eye was partially closed and red and puffy and the colours in my left eye were off..
I had spent over $10,000 on tests and treatments and nothing has cured me..they couldnt pinpoint what was doing this and what caused it..mine actually started after giving birth to my twins and i was only 23..but im now 32 and i couldnt be cured, and i hadnt driven for 7 years or went shopping or took my boys out anywhere cause of this illness..its so unfair..
Just keep getting onto the doctors and demand to have tests done ..they dont understand the pain that actually comes with these symptoms, cause we look normal from the outside.

Thank you Anie for answering. I have also thinking of migraines, but I doubt a migraine can last 4 months day and night. Also, my head doesn't hurt all the time - but the brain fog is present all the time with blurry/double vision. I also get sick when I try to focus on something and develop instantly pressure in the back side of the neck. There is also a HUGE change between my energy levels four months ago and now.
If any of you have any other ideas, please let me know.

Yes, I'm thinking migraines too. These can all be symptoms, but the most important thing is to have an mri to rule out tumors. Good luck!

Did anyone suggest that you might be having possible migraines (with the headache, halo lights, blurred vision, nausea, etc.)?  You might want to read up more on them to see if it fits.
