headaches, numbness

Here's a list of my symptoms.  I need to hear some unbiased opinions of what to seek tests for:

- Episodic, lasting from 2-6 weeks+ each
- 4 episodes in the past 15 mos, none less than a month apart
- headaches (unilateral, bilateral, isolated, and all over)
- neck pain
- muscle spasms in neck, back and other isolated, random areas
- numbness/tingling down arm(s) one or both, usu. more on 1 side
- have had excessive fatique and chronic bowel problems 10+ yrs.
- noticed general weakening of muscles over past 6 months
- dizziness/vertigo
- tremors (can see in hands, but feel throughout body)
- buzzing sensations in lower extremeties and parts of arms
- sensitivity to heat starting late spring this yr.
- sensitivity to sounds (sporadically)
- more symptoms have occurred on R than L, but appear on both

There's probably more that I can't remember to mention because the list is so long.  Any insight and direction on where to push the doctors would be great!  I realize that I am my only advocate and I don't want to leave it to chance that the doctors are covering it all because, after all, this is science -- not math.  I am very proactive and need to figure this out so that I can address whatever it is.  After searching for over a year now, I am beginning to feel somewhat desperate and panicky due to the fact that my symptoms are increasing in number and intensity as we speak.  Thanks to anyone who decides to share. . .

Did you see a neurologist who did a clinical exam to determine if you really in fact are showing signs of weakness? If you are, that would warrant tests such as an EMG. As a person who has had Lyme Disease twice I would say it sounds like Lyme Disease - but that depends on where you live or have visited lately.

I have had a neurological exam and the signs of weakness are not obvious to him.  I just have noticed, knowing myself, that my overall muscle strength has diminished some in the past 6 months or so.  I used to be able to lift heavy furniture with my husband and was as tough as any.  Now I find myself struggling more than I can ever remember over things I wouldn't struggle quite so much with.  I haven't actually been out of the area at all since all this started.  I live in NC.

Thanks for your response.  I hope I will get whatever information there is to get soon because I am getting pretty nervous about the symptoms, since they are tapering yet (this episode) and I am going into my seventh week.  The symptoms seem to only increase and are now stopping me in my tracks at times when they extraordinarily flare up.
