63 years old just had ct scan that showed a small Dermoid cyst on right ovary. Dr. said he will watch it-should I get another opinion.

hmmm... I think you should ask you doctor if your pain could be from a low estrogen state. it may be that a Little vaginal estrogen cream fixed your problem

Just had ultrsound to check out Dermoid cyst, don't have results yet. Found when they did vaginal US painful, is this typical? Gyn does not think that this small Dermoid cyst(2.5) can cause problems that I an experiencing : freguent urination, bladder presure and occasional pelvis pain. Keep getting UTI since Sept. Urogolist sent me for GYN. for elevation cause when she scoped the bladder it looked like something, possible Dermoid cyst was pressing on it. But Gyn really dismissed that, so confused don't know what to do. Can a Dermoid Cyst cause infection or bladder problems. Can small Dermoids cause problem, I feel the decision will be left to me if I should have it removed-I just don't know the answer.

I am being refered to GYN, it is a Dermoid cyst that is pressing Bladder causing problems. At age 63 are the odds increased for this to be maligant. Seems like when I read about Dermoid cyst it was always in 30 year olds. I'm a little concerned, would appreciate feedback. Thank You!

Hi There,
I agree. You should have a pelvic ultrasound which is a much more accurate x-ray for looking at the uterus and ovaries. It could be that a small tumor such as a dermoid cyst or a fibroid on the uterus is pressing on your bladder.

Just saw Urologist today, still having back pain, some pelvis pressure and urine frequency. Dr. look inside bladder, saw something pressing on bladder-could be dermoid cyst. Would a dermoid cyst cause these symptons...she thinks I should have a GYN evaluation.

No I don't have the report, from most that I read it seems they are more concerned with Dermoid cyst the older you are.Thats why I'm a little concerned, how long will they watch it? Had the ct scan to rule out kidney stone, they saw no kidney stone.

Hi there, do you have the actual ultrasound report?
Second opinions can be very helpful.
I agree that if you have a small (less than 3 cm) , asymptomatic ovary, just leaving it alone makes the most sense/
