Rising CA-125

by Hazel30, Dec 13, 2006 12:00AM
Hello Doctor, I just received my Moms ca-125 results and its 14.  Im not sure if you remember but I posted you a question regarding her ct scan report last week and it all lookes good.

She requested a ct scan after feeling some lower abdomen pain.  Her ct said that there are no changes from previous 2 ct scans that were prior to diagnose and after completionn of chemo.

She is 46 and had stage 3c ovca.  Doing great besides her herniated back.  What could bring on this rise of ca125 other then reoccurance.  She had an epidural injection last month for her back and just had a cold and took some antibiotics.

Im very nervous and cant stop crying.  Is this really a reoccurance, please be upfront with me.

Thank you

Fiana

Thank You for the reply.  Im still a little confused on why her ca-125 jumped like that.

Is it normal for the ca-125 to double like that from 7 to 14 in a month?  At this point what would be alarming as far as the ca-125 goes at her next blood test?

Thanks again
