borderline mucinous tumour and appendectomy.

by MBlumpy, Oct 02, 2004 12:00AM
I had a borderline mucinous tumour, my ovary, and appendix removed in 2001.I was to have ultrasounds annually for the next 3yrs. My scan in nov last year(should have been my final one) showed a 4cm cyst on my remaining ovary.I was told I may be pregnant and returned 6 weeks later,'unpregnant'. Came back for a scan 3 months later as requested and fortunatley it had gone.I was asked to return for my final appointment and discharge from hospital a year later.2 months later I had a scan on my abdomen because I was having gastro problems again, and this showed 2 small cysts.I didn't worry as i was told it was normal. I had my 'final' scan recently and my ovary was enlarged. The questions I was asked (could I pregnant?)indicated there could beanother cyst but the doctor never said.He said he was happy with the scan, but was sending me for another CA125, and would write to say if i needed to come back. I know it's probably nothing, and am more worried about being discharged forever should my CA125 be ok. I never had symptoms of the mucinous tumour, despite it's size and it had twisted, so how can I tell if I have another?Could my gastro discomfort (Pain on my ovary side, bloated and going to the loo to much), be that i'm getting these cysts unbeknown, and that they're resolving themselves, but scarring my one ovary? Am I more likely to get cancer if I've had a borderline tumour and cysts? I'm 28yrs and want children one day.
